EPO est une formation musicale à géométrie variable fondée par Guy Constant avec l’assistance de Nicolas Arnoult aux arrangements.
Sa vocation première est de faire se rencontrer le rythme dans ses formes les plus musicales (et notamment la polyrythmie comme valeur universelle) avec d’autres instruments.
Chaque forme orchestrale est relativement atypique et nous nous efforçons de la faire sonner de façon originale, les percussions étant utilisées à la fois pour leur effet rythmique mais aussi comme « couleur orchestrale et palette sonore » (choix des timbres, des instruments…).
Nous essayons de creuser et d'interroger sans cesse les relations Rythme/Mélodie et Improvisation/Ecriture afin de créer une musique qui se nourrit de l'instant et qui nous permet de nous exprimer pleinement.
EPO is a musical formation with variable geometry founded by Guy Constant assisted by Nicolas Arnoult for the arrangements.
Its primary vocation is to bring rhythm in its most musical forms (and in particular polyrhythm as a universal value) together with other instruments.
Each orchestral form is relatively atypical and we try to make it sound original, the percussions being used both for their rhythmic effect but also as "orchestral colour and sound palette" (choice of timbres, instruments...).
We try to constantly explore and question the relationship between Rhythm/Melody and Improvisation/Writing in order to create music that feeds on the moment and allows us to express ourselves fully.
